Short barrel 27mm pistol made from zinc as indicated on the frame. Made by Walther in 1943. Zinc pistols were intended for the KM as they would not rust when exposed to salty water and mist. They are, however, much heavier than the standard aluminum or later stamped models. No infantryman would have carried such a brick but since they were stored in racks on board ships, their heavy weight didn't matter to sailors. These are quite rare to find. It also has the safety pin on the left side of the barrel to indicate a loaded chamber. All proper markings are present.
